Tour DAY BY DAY
Day 1: Marrakesh
Marrakesh is a fascinating city and its history is incomparable along other
Moroccan cities. Also known as the “ red city “, Marrakesh was once the capital
of the Saadian Moroccan dynasty during 16th and 17th century. Its medina,
several museums, palaces, gardens and its incredible covered markets make from
this city a must during a visit to Morocco.
In one day, we take you to visit the city most important monuments. Early
morning we head to el Badi Palace right after a visit to Bahia Palace. These 2
palaces are very close to each other and consist on two important architecture
features in the city.
Bahia Palace has 16th century Saadian architecture with amazing painted ceilings
and a huge interior patio. El Badi Palace is a big complex with quite a few
number of structures dated from the 17th century that you can visit and walk
around. The views from the top of the main tower are impressive as you can
appreciate an amazing skyline of the city along with the Atlas Mountains in the
south side. A very interesting feature from this monument is that on the top of
the ruined buildings, more than a few stork nests create this gorgeous ambiance.
After lunch we depart to visit Menara Gardens with its vast olive trees
plantation, and, in the center of the garden, the big war memorial with a
monument and pool full of fishes.
Majorelle Gardens are our next visit. This
eclectic and well maintained private grounds feature beautiful different plants,
lakes and an interesting museum. The gardens were built by Jacques Majorelle in
1924 and are now owned by Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé.
We go to the hotel to have a rest and prepare ourselves for the evening. We
diner in the city old medina and we head for a night walk in the souks and in
the famous square Jemaa el Fna. Jemma el Fna was inscribed under Unesco
protection back in 1986 as of its extreme importance. This inimitable frenzied
square encloses snake charmers, monkeys, acrobats, restaurant stands, orange
juice stands, story tellers and marabous, in site dentists, herbalists, games
and hundreds of people dancing and playing music. Photos of Marrakesh

Day 2: Oukaimeden
Can you image Alpine sceneries in Morocco? The unusual situation of Oukaimeden
mixes both snow and red dirt deserted soil in the bottom of the mountain.
Perfect photographic spot, Oukaimeden is one Moroccan’s most famous ski resorts
and its views bring to mind the European Alps.

Day 3: Ourika Valley
Most of people from Marrakesh come from this distinct valley with its unique
flora and fauna. Ourika’s peculiar atmosphere boosts distinct vegetation and a
few waterfalls that end up in a beautiful river running down the mountain.
Ourika is located 45km away from Marrakesh on the bottom of the High Atlas
Mountains. The mix of red dirt, rocks and flourishing rivers makes the perfect
day trip from away from the city. On the way back to Marrakesh we visit a
saffron farm where you’ll have a small introduction to this herb often used as a
spice in many recipes, how it is cropped, picked and dehydrated to give the
final product.

Day 4: Imlil
The Atlas Mountains go up to 4400 metres on its highest point. We take you to
Imlil on a day trip, where you’ll have a small hiking along the mountain trails
with spectacular views. Imlil is a small village in the high Atlas Mountains of
Morocco. It is located 1740 meters above sea level. The mountains sceneries are
unique.
Day 5: Ouzoud waterfalls
Ouzoud waterfalls are something unique in the country and its beauty stands out
to other well known waterfalls around the world. The site consists of 3 big
waterfalls with more than 50 meters high, dumping water to this beautiful oasis
with a couple of restaurants and observation points below. The waterfall visit
includes a small hiking around the gardens and the close village of Ouzoud. The
views from above and incredible and during summer this can also be a great
escapee to Marrakesh’s heat.
