Tour DAY BY DAY

Day 1: Ouarzazate

Frequently named as the capital of south Morocco, Ouarzazate’s economy boosted since the opening of its International Airport supported the long dated renowned film studios. Ouarzazate’s surrounding destinations are well known and famous movies such as “The Gladiator“, “The Sahara“ and “Lawrence of Arabia“ are a proof of this success.

Ouarzazate’s modern characteristics mix up to date facilities with southern traditional architecture in a town right in the end of the Atlas Mountains and in the beginning of Sahara Desert. The town center offers a short visit to the museum and the beautiful Taourirt Kasbah dated back from 19th century. After lunch we take on a tour around Ouarzazate fascinating and most well known cinema studios.

Ouarzazate’s population is around 200,000 people and its modernity and superb hotel facilities provide the perfect spot to a 5 day exploration of the region.

Day 2: Kasbah Ait ben Haddou

Ait ben Haddou is a fortified village built on a hill along the river inside a gorgeous valley. The ksar is located 30km away from Ouarzazate and makes a very nice day trip where you’ll mix spectacular landscapes along interesting traditional south Moroccan architecture included in Unesco World Heritage list since 1990. Ait ben Haddou is an old fortified village inside a spectacular valley located on top of a hill surrounded with a river. Inside the village, several unique kasbahs show the southern Moroccan terracotta architecture in one of its best locations. The ksar was used as background to movies such as “The Gladiator” and “Lawrence of Arabia“.

Day 3: Kasbah Telouet

Located in the High Atlas Mountains on the way to Marrakesh, Kasbah Telouet presents lovely scenes. Long time ago, 2 impressive kasbahs were built by Pasha, an ancient King from the 12th century.

Day 4: Skoura

Skoura is an amazing Oasis a few kms from Ouarzazate. On the way to the Rose Valley, Skoura Oasis stands for a perfect example of a Palm grove Oasis with mud architecture Kasbahs with an amazing view to the Atlas Mountains. This scenery is 8 months per year seen in white, with snow up in the mountains. You can visit the Amredhyle Kasbah and its small museum with local artifacts a interesting presentation to local culture and history.

Day 5: Oasis Fint

Fint is just 12km from Ouarzazate’s center and its beauty arrives by surprise within the first glance of this valley with small Berber villages and a gorgeous river covered with palm trees and several oases. This is probably the most beautiful Oasis in Morocco and its unique sub-Saharan culture still survives as local villagers ancestors where left from old trade caravans between North and West Africa.
