Day 1: Zagora

Zagora, a laid-back town, is known as one of the gates to Sahara Desert. Zagora surrounding are a mix of rocky mountains and sandy plains. The Wednesday and Sunday market are very interesting. You’ll visit the small yet unique dune of Tinfou surrounded by an amazing valley.

Day 2: Tamegroute

Tamegroute used to be an important cultural centre. You will visit its amazing underground ksar and wonder around its small fresh streets. Tamegroute is a connection of several ksars that gave this little village the present form. Tamegroute is well kwon by its famous Zaouia (religious fraternity) and by its fancy pottery.

Day 3: Tamsahlte and Tazzarine

Tamsahlte is a lonely village surrounded by palm trees and rocky mountains. On the way to Tazzarine you’ll be able to visit both villages endless oasis and interact with the locals. This is the perfect place to relax or to go for a long walk and explore the area.

Day 4: Mhamid

Mhamid is where the road ends. A trip south to this Sahara village is a trip to another planet. You’ll have the chance of visiting Erg Lehoudi and Erg Chigaga, south-west Morocco’s most beautiful dunes.

Mhamid gives you a sight of what south Algeria and Mauritania should look and feel like. Life here runs at a different speed and the Sahara Desert presents its roughness but nevertheless breathtaking.

Day 5: Aslim and Adgz

Aslim is a oasis right after Agdz. Aslim palm groves spread for miles along the valley surrounded by spectacular rocky mountains. Aslim fives you the unique opportunity of easy interaction with local people and learn their daily costumes. A walk around the village and palm groves will make you enjoy different oasis crops and plantations, this is a great place for photographic opportunities as you’ll enter inside the mud-rock built village and walk around the palm grove.
